Tragika is an orchestral metal band formed by Shane Krout and Jessica Grinspan in early 2006. Influenced by modern European symphonic-rock band, including Nightwish, Lacuna Coil and Within Temptation, Tragika features rich, intricate melodies with driving rhythms, heavy guitars adorned with complex strings, and classical female vocals to highlight chilling gothic themes.
Jessica Grinspan - Female Voice
Originally from Philadelphia, Jess writes all the lyrics and vocal melodies for the band. She brings a unique and original element to the music that truely feels gothic.
Ryan Cooper - Guitars
Ryan has been performing in original and cover bands for more than 10 years. His heavy but stylish sound blends perfectly with the keyboards and the rhythm section.
Shane Krout - Male Voice, Bass, Keys, Programming
Shane has written and arranged all of the original music for Tragika. Having performed cover material for more than 15 years, he formed the band to explore a new and diverse sound. His influences include Therion, Nightwish, Dimmu Borgir, Type O Negative and many classical composers.
Corey Willard - Percussion
Another musician who is no stranger to original music, Corey started out playing guitar. After switching to drums, Corey performed with Hydrate and played on their CD several years ago. He now brings his sense of rhythm and timing to Tragika.
